| REFUGE
The wilted rose in the girl's hand represents disappointment, a loss that each one of us experiences. It could be the loss of a loved one or the end of a dream. We all have disappointments in our lives, but we have to remember that Jesus is there for us, to console us and to help us get back on our feet. He is our strength in times of persecution. He is there for us when we are having a hard time forgiving ourselves for some of the sins we have committed. This picture speaks profoundly to the women in W.E.B.A. (Women Exploited By Abortion). Even after God has forgiven you, it is extremely hard to forgive yourself. Abortions usually take place because of ignorance and because everyone in the woman's life has made her believe that she has no other choice. Some people harden their hearts to these women. But we need to remember that out of ignorance they have sinned; out of love God has forgiven them; out of their repentant hearts and God's caring intimacy, they can begin to forgive themselves and mourn the death of their children. |
"God is our refuge and our strength, an ever-present help in distress." (Psalm 46:2)
