Session #4
Recognizing and Winning Spiritual Warfare

Overcoming Obstacles

Question for discussion (please post a comment):
Remember back to a time when you faced an insurmountable obstacle (or obstacles), which eventually you overcame. How was the Holy Spirit part of overcoming those obstacles? Share your testimony to help build up others who take this course. (Side benefit: Remembering also helps us have stronger faith for the problems we have today.)

Comments from the live event

C.F. posted a wonderful example:

I was having a very difficult superior who seemed to be content on making my life as miserable as possible. I worked very hard on a project almost single-handedly, and when it was time to submit it, she drove me up the wall. Good friends and family stood by me, telling me not to give in to anger and loose it all but to be patient. Every time I got angry, I did not take immediate action and do something. I believe the Holy Spirit took control and calmed me down and made me just let go of everything and surrender to the Lord. I had promptings to go to church to spend time in front of the Blessed Sacrament, which gave me immense peace and comfort, and eventually I handed in the project. After I let go and let God handle it, there was no more stress. But it was a journey — a journey into the unknown — only with faith as a companion
