Session #11
Making Prayers More Powerful

What should we do about distractions during prayer?
and
How do I know the Holy Spirit is speaking to me?

Question for discussion (please post a comment):
Making prayers more powerful requires reducing or eliminating distractions — we all have them. What should we do about all those distractions when it is time for making prayers more powerful? How do you know if the Holy Spirit is really speaking to you? Describe your sacred space (your favorite place to pray). How does this help you become more aware of the Holy Spirit speaking to your heart?

Other question:
Now that we’re almost finished with this course (one more to go!), would you recommend this course to others? What would you tell them to convince them? I’ll use some of the answers to encourage people to view the archived videos, which will become available to the public immediately after our last session as a group.

Comments from the live event

B.I. answers the first question with this:

My sacred prayer place is in my chair in the lounge, surrounded by family photos and images of our Lady, the Holy Family, and the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I have my time first thing in the morning before anyone wakes. This is my time with the Lord. I know that without this time I don’t function nearly as well.
