In praying
for an increase of vocations, we need to pray for a rise in
the HOLY priesthood, because there are those who abuse their
vocations in ways other than sexual sins, such as false teachings,
control instead of collaboration, attitudes of superiority,
legalism that works against the salvation of souls, and individualism
that deters from participation in true community life with
their brother priests and with the laity.
Christ
is our example of servant leadership. This Rosary is offered
as a request for the Blessed Mother's help in improving seminaries
and raising up true vocations of servant-like holy priests,
but also holy Religious, deacons, and lay leaders.
We cannot
ask for an increase of holy vocations if we are not willing
to be part of the answer. Therefore, do not assume that praying
this Rosary is enough. When we tell God that something needs
to be done, He taps us on the shoulder and says, "Go
and help it get done." Put actions behind your prayers.
Back up your request for an increase of holy vocations by
serving the Church using your own holy giftedness, for you
too have been chosen and called.
In this
Cyber-Rosary, when it's time to pray on a rosary bead, place
your mouse curser over the bead and it will change from blue
to gold. (You can try it here.)
Also do this with the images next to the "Our Father",
"Glory Be", and "Oh My Jesus" prayers.
You may
say this Rosary in litany with Terry Modica, author of the
Daily Reflections, if you have a Media Player. Just click
on the link to start your Player; Terry will pray the first
half with you, then you will finish it.
We will
be incorporating into the Sorrowful Mysteries a few of the
prayers from the Dallas Plenary Meeting of the U.S. Conference
of Catholic Bishops, which dealt with sexual offenses, because
these prayers are equally valid for any form of vocations
abuse.
Let
us begin.
We pray
with full confidence in God's healing love, because:
We
believe
in God, the Father almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth;
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin
Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was
buried.
He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again.
He ascended into Heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father almighty.
From thence He will come again to judge the living and the
dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting.
Amen.

Our
Father, Who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen. |
For the gift of Faith from the Holy Spirit:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord
is with you.
Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy
Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
For the gift of Hope from Jesus Christ:
Hail Mary, full of grace...
For the gift of Love from God the Father:
Hail Mary, full of grace...
 |
Glory
be to the Father and to the Son and to
the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen! |
|
Together
we pray:
Oh
my Jesus, forgive us our sins,
save us from the fires of hell;
lead all souls to Heaven,
especially those most in need of Your Mercy.
