Jesus is condemned to death

Help me, O Jesus, to remember that when I am condemned for my faith, You are with me and will make good come from my sorrows. I offer up my sufferings and unite them to Your Sacred Heart. Amen.
The artist’s story: The 1st Station of the Cross represents Jesus’ decision to carry out the task his Father sent him to do. Before I started drawing this piece, the song “Worthy is the Lamb” was constantly going through my head. The verse goes: “Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive honor and glory, worthy are the ones who believe to receive the goodness of God.” These words are included in the corpus on the cross in the background, along with “He was condemned for our sins” and a listing of several of our sins.
Jesus’ cross represents the crossroads that he was at when he was condemned. He knew where he was going and the great suffering he must endure. He went meek as a lamb to the slaughterhouse to save us all from our sins. What a great love he had for all of us and still does today as he offers and humbles himself to come to us each and every day if we choose to receive him.
