The stone panel above the left of this shrine portrays Jesus healing the blind beggar of Jericho. The scene and text come from Luke 18:42, which used to be read on the 5th Sunday of Lent but is now read on the 31st Sunday of Ordinary Time (near the end of the Liturgical Year). After repenting from our sins, Jesus gives us new spiritual sight that helps us grow in wholeness and holiness.
