Left: Joseph, son of Jacob, suffered because of the envy of his 11 brothers, who feared his dreams of future greatness (Genesis 37:5-11). Joseph later became a messiah of the family (foreshadowing Jesus), by saving them from famine. Therefore, he is a patriarch of what eventually became the kingdom of Israel.
Right: In the parable of Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31), the poor man Lazarus begs at the rich man's table (the center part of the window panel). After death, he receives his reward, resting in the bosom of Abraham (upper right) while the rich man languishes in Hell (lower right).
We do not know what the future holds, but with Jesus as our Lord and Savior, he makes good come from bad and he rewards us. |
