As his death neared, Jesus relaxed with his friends and disciples. Mary (the sister of Martha) is seen washing and anointing the feet of Jesus with costly, perfumed oils, arousing Judas' anger (John 12:1-8). Judas complained about its expense, but Jesus received her gift because of the great love with which she gave it, and he counted it toward his burial.
