These three are Catholic laymen who
served the Church in generous and profound ministries: Frederic Ozanam, the 19th century founder of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society for serving the poor; Matthew Talbot, a late 19th century penitent, laborer, and defender of temperance; Thomas O'Neill who holds a Catholic Missal and the will in which he bequeathed his money for the building of this Cathedral.
