(1) The Mexican Shrine of Our Lady of Guadelupe connects the woman who crushes the head of the serpent (Gen. 3:15) with Mary the Immaculate Conception. (2) Saint Ildephonsus (Feast Day January 23) was a 7th century archbishop of Toledo who miraculously received a priestly vestment for Mass from Mary. (3) Saint Luke wrote more about Mary than any other Gospel writer; he holds a painting, ascribed to him, of the Madonna and Child. (4) Mary appeared to Saint Bernadette Soubirous (Feast Day April 16) in 1858 and told her, "I am the Immaculate Conception." Click the photo to return to the full window.
