Saint James the Greater

The elder brother of St. John the Evangelist, James the Greater was the first of the Apostles to be martryed. The symbols of the pilgrim's staff and wallet suggest his early journey to heaven.

He is the patron saint of arthritis sufferers.

His feast day is July 25.
