St. John

Saint John

The Evangelist St. John, who wrote the Gospel according to John and (according to some early church Fathers) the Book of Revelation, holds the cupped serpent, honoring the traditional belief that he was miraculously saved from death after drinking from a poisoned chalice.

He is the patron saint of burn victims, poison, art dealers, authors, booksellers, editors, publishers, painters, and friendships.

His feast day is December 27.
