St. Simon

Saint Simon

St. Simon is represented by the Gospel he preached and the saw by which he was martyred because of his faith.

In scripture he is often called Simon the Zealot because of his zeal for the Jewish law, which he practiced before his conversion to Christ.

He is the patron saint of desperate situations, and of curriers, sawmen, sawyers, and tanners.

His feast day is October 28.
