The front door shows why the Cathedral was named for
Mary Our Queen

Above the center doors Mary is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth by the Holy Spirit and holy angels, because of her holiness.

Heavenly Father, You blessed the Virgin Mary with the fullness of grace. She is my model of faith, hope, and love.

Above her, the Holy Spirit descends, by whose overshadowing power Christ as conceived.

Mary stands on a serpent representing humankind's fall from grace. Mary is the new Eve, full of grace, crushing the head of the serpent.

Thus, she is the Patron Saint of the Cathedral.

Dear Jesus, place my needs into the protection of her queenship and motherly love. With her help, I want my faith to grow. Join my heart, dear Lord, to her Immaculate Heart, and from there, to Your loving heart.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you!
