Our statue of Saint Charles Borromeo was blessed by Giovanni Cardinal Montini, who was successor to Saint Charles as Cardinal Archbishop of Milan. Cardinal Montini visited the Cathedral in 1960 only a few years before being elected Pope Paul VI in 1963.

To the right of the shrine are four windows dedicated to Saints of the Americas.
