March 16 – Saint Gabriel del Rosario Brochero

listenLord Jesus, Saint Gabriel del Rosario Brochero traveled long distances in Argentina on the back of a mule to serve the needs of his parishioners throughout his huge territory. He was well known for wearing a sombrero and poncho. He devoted all of his energy to those who needed his priestly help. No sick person was left without the sacraments, even after contracting leprosy from those he served. “Woe if the devil is going to rob a soul from me,” he said. My Good Shepherd, Jesus, help me to fulfill my own calling with as much enthusiasm and determination. Saint Gabriel del Rosario Brochero, pray for me.  Amen.
