Both of the stone panels in this bay point to the importance of works of mercy and constant prayer. This one shows Mother Mary McAuley, 19th century foundress of the Sisters of Mercy. Below the Sisters of Mercy are symbols of their work for the homeless, the naked, the thirsty, the hungry, the imprisoned and the dead. The text is one of the Beatitudes, Matthew 5:7.
