May 4 – Saint Gothard
Dear Holy Spirit, Saint Gothard (960-1038) was elderly when he was appointed as bishop to reform the diocese. Relying on Your help, he built and restored churches, improved education, brought order to unruly parishes, and constructed a hospice for the poor — as if filled with youthful energy. Lord, You always supply what we need to carry out the work You ask us to do. I ask Saint Gothard to intercede for the elderly people in my family and church, that they may receive from You whatever they need. When they feel tired or discouraged, bless them with renewed energy and zeal for serving You. Saint Gothard, pray for me. Amen.
Quote for Today
Venerable Fulton Sheen (1895-1979)
God does not love us because we are valuable. We are valuable because God loves us.”
