November 14 – Saint Lawrence O’Toole

Saint Lawrence O'Toole

listenHoly Jesus, Saint Lawrence O’Toole (1125-1180) was an archbishop who spent many years working hard for the Church.  On his deathbed, someone asked him if he wanted to make a will.  He grinned saying, “God knows I don’t have a penny in the world.”  He had already given away everything he owned to help others.  I ask him to pray for my decisions about what to do with the money and material goods I own, including my retirement fund and other investments that I’m using to protect my future.  O Lord, sanctify my plans and give me a holy perspective on how much to save and how much to give away.  Saint Lawrence O’Toole, pray for me.  Amen.

quoteLord, on my own I can do nothing and even if I could, I would not want to, for I desire nothing save that Your will be done in me, over me and around me.”
