November 19 – Saint Nerses
Holy Spirit, Saint Nerses (c.310-373) devoted his life to teaching both priests and laity to come alive in the Faith and increase their holiness. He believed that no matter how spiritually advanced a person might be, there was always need for more growth. I ask him to pray for all those who give parish missions, retreats, spirituality courses, and other teachings about the Good News. Inspire them, O Lord, to preach messages that challenge us and awaken us to greater faith rather than messages that do little more than please our ears. Raise up speakers who are growing in holiness themselves. Saint Nerses, pray for us. Amen.
Quote for Today
Venerable Fulton Sheen (1895-1979)
Unless souls are saved, nothing is saved; there can be no world peace unless there is soul peace. World wars are only projections of the conflicts waged inside the souls of men and women, for nothing happens in the external world that has not first happened within a soul.”
The prayer above is from Terry Modica’s book Daily Prayers with the Saints.
