November 5 – Saint Sylvia

Saint Sylvia

listenDear God, Saint Sylvia (c.515-c.592) was the mother of Saint Gregory the Great, who became a pope.  She and her husband raised their children to live a sanctified life filled with acts of kindness toward others.  I ask her to intercede for all those I know who are raising children.  Holy Spirit, guide us in dealing with the problems, misfortunes, and behavioral issues that occur.  Teach us how to raise our children in the Faith.  Help us to give them unconditional love, instilling in them a generous love for others and a true devotion to You.  Because our love is imperfect, help them to receive the fullness of Your love.  Saint Sylvia, pray for us.  Amen.

quoteDo not allow yourselves to be confused by an unchristian attitude, but act according to the words of Jesus Christ: ‘Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself’.”
