April 5 – Saint Vincent Ferrer

Saint-Vincent-Ferrer

listenO God, Saint Vincent Ferrer was a great preacher who converted thousands in several countries.  He often said, “If you truly want to help the soul of your neighbor, you should approach God first with all your heart.  Ask Him simply to fill you with charity, the greatest of all virtues; with it you can accomplish what you desire.”   So with the help of his prayers, I ask You, O God, to teach me how to evangelize through loving others as You love them.  Instill in me a heart that is full of compassion for everyone.  Remind me of whom I do not love and guide me into giving them holy, unconditional love.  Saint Vincent Ferrer, pray for me.  Amen.

Quotes for Today

Saint Vincent Ferrer (1350-1419)

quoteIf you truly want to help the soul of your neighbor, you should approach God first with all your heart. Ask him simply to fill you with charity, the greatest of all virtues.”

quoteStudy fatigues and drains the mind and heart. Go from time to time to refresh them at the feet of Jesus Christ under his cross. Some moments of repose in his sacred wounds give fresh vigor and new lights. Interrupt your application by short but fervent and ejaculatory prayers; never begin or end your study but by prayer.”

quoteWhen troubled with temptations, raise up your heart and soul to God, humbly beseeching Him to turn them to His greater glory, and to your salvation, supporting the temptations as long as it shall please Him, and imploring Him to grant you grace never to offend Him.”
