May 21 – Saint Godric of Finchale

Dear Father, Saint Godric of Finchale (c.1065-1170) enjoyed living in solitude with You, spending much time in prayer and meditation.  He developed the gift of music without being educated in the field.  He received his lyrics and melodies from the Blessed Mother, and shared the songs with the Church.  I ask him to pray for all those in my family, friendships and parish who have been gifted with the call to lead the community in musical worship, and for the people in church to grow stronger in singing their faith.  Help us to raise our voices in song, with our hearts full love, knowing that heavenly choirs are singing, too.  Saint Godric of Finchale, pray for us.  Amen.
