#WitnessChallenge #GNMWitness
By Bill Snyder, GNM Board Member, Founder of Patchwork Heart Ministry
Good News Ministries is inviting you to participate in Pentecost Today’s #WitnessChallenge. This challenge is like the Ice Bucket Challenge except instead of pouring ice water on your head, you are challenged to answer the question: Why do you need the Holy Spirit alive and actively working in your life? (We’ll leave it up to you to decide which challenge is more difficult.)
This is a great way for you, as a friend of Good News Ministries, to share the joy of Easter and challenge your friends to publicly witness their faith in anticipation of Pentecost. In addition, by simply adding the hashtag #GNMWitness to your post, your participation will help Good News Ministries.
Ok, how do you do this?
Please record a video using your phone. This does not need to be professionally recorded. Just grab your phone and record a short witness and answer the question: Why do I need the Holy Spirit alive and actively working in my life? If you’d like a little bit more direction, check out this 3-minute instructional video from Deacon Ralph Poyo: youtu.be/6zmfsNcf9PM?si=qrAKoZ98h-a9zUGc.
After you record your video, please upload/post this video to as many of your social media accounts that you have (YouTube, Facebook, X, Instagram, etc). It is absolutely crucial that you post the video to your own social media accounts, use the hashtags #WitnessChallenge and #GNMWitness in your posts, and also tag two or three friends whom you are challenging to make their own witness video.
If you are not active on Social Media but you have a Google/Gmail Account, you by default have a YouTube account. To activate your free YouTube account, simply visit YouTube.com and follow the on-screen instructions to activate your account. Then upload your video there.
Here is a sample post:
Good News Ministries has challenged me to respond to the #WitnessChallenge. Here is my #GNMWitness. (Tagged Names of the People You Are Challenging), you are up next!
As you and your friends complete the challenge and include the #GNMWitness hashtag, we will be able to aggregate all of the witnesses and feature some of them on our website! Thanks in advance for prayerfully considering this challenge!
This challenge is part of a nine-year novena to the Holy Spirit. For more about that, visit pentecosttodayusa.org/hs2033.

WCAT TV presents … Terry Modica
It was miraculous! I had been dealing with the grief of my Ralph’s death — it’s so easy to cry and then I can’t stop the tears without some sort of big distraction engaging my attention. I’ve also been dealing with fatigue syndrome after many weeks of helping Ralph in his illness, serving my mom, and recovering from a series of traumatic events that happened over the last two-and-a-half years.
God has been taking care of things, including leading me to a new publisher, En Route Books and Media. Dr. Sebastian Mahfood, OP, President of En Route, wanted to turn my most recent books (My Soul Shall Be Healed, and The Father’s Heart) into workbooks. He immediately re-published My Soul Shall Be Healed. And to get the word out, he arranged for me to be interviewed on “Author to Author” on WCAT TV. The problem was, the interview was scheduled for 7pm. My fatigue has been sending me to bed at 7:30! How could I do this interview without fading into bleary babble?
When the time came for the interview, one minute I was wiping away tears and the next minute the Holy Spirit took over, filling me with the joy and energy that I used to feel on a regular basis back before life took so many bad twists and turns. The interviewer, Dr. Cynthia Toolin-Wilson, remarked that I clearly enjoyed serving the Lord with the gifts and talents he gave me.
Afterward, I thanked God profusely for the miracle.
