Dear Jesus, my Savior, help me to draw on the same strength from the Holy Spirit as You and your mother did when you gazed on each other with such intimate yet suffering love. Amen.
The artist’s story: It was my pleasure to paint the Fourth Station of the Cross. I considered it a challenge to try and capture the emotions of Our Lady, looking into the eyes of her condemned Son and sharing in his pain and suffering. I’ll let somebody else be the judge if I accomplished this in some small way.
