September 5 – Saint Lawrence Justinian

O Holy Spirit, Saint Lawrence Justinian (1381-1456) decided at a very young age that he was going to grow up to become a saint, but his mother — unsuccessfully — tried to discourage him because she thought he was aiming too high.  I ask him to pray for my own lofty goals; show me which goals You have placed in my heart and let no obstacle nor opinion stop me from reaching that goal.  I also ask him to intercede for the children whose ideas of their futures seem naive and impractical.  Help us to encourage them to have great dreams and to find strength and endurance for fulfilling Your will for them.  Saint Lawrence, pray for us.  Amen.
