September 10 – Saint Nicholas of Tolentino

Saint Nicholas of Tolentino

listenHoly Spirit, Saint Nicholas of Tolentino was so profoundly touched by the messages of a powerful homilist that he became a priest to help others the same way.  But when the people did not come to church to hear the Word of God, he went out to where he could find them—in the streets and the slums.  Many who heard him there were converted.  I ask him to pray for evangelists, especially those who go out from church to reach people where they live, work, shop, and play.  Help us all to become willing to visit unusual or unpleasant places in order to take Your Good News to the people who are there.  Saint Nicholas, pray for us.  Amen.
