Holy Spirit Summit

Holy Spirit SummitI’m delighted to be part of another online summit! The “Holy Spirit Summit” is a free, three-evening online event featuring over 15 Catholic speakers who will offer, in short 15-minute videos, catechesis, stories, Biblical reflections, personal sharings, and more.

The live event is on May 21, 22, and 23rd at 8 pm ET on YouTube. Registration will offer you a reminder of the event so that you don’t miss it. But you can also watch the summit at your convenience afterward.

To register, go to nonnatus.org/holy-spirit-summit.html now.

Meet our newest board member

Beth SolisPlease welcome Beth Solis to the GNM team! (Post a comment at the bottom of this page: gnm.org/insidersview/05-16-2024.)

Beth first learned of Good News Ministries in 2019. Now she is helping the Board of Directors prepare a solid foundation for the continuation of Good News Ministries far into the future.

With the passing of my husband, GNM co-founder Ralph, we need to make sure that if anything happens to me, or when we reach the day when it’s my turn to let Jesus take me Home, GNM has everything in place to keep providing Catholic faith-builders.

Toward that goal, we’ll need the support of champions who donate to the cause of hiring someone who can serve with his/her gifts and talents now and be trained to eventually become the Executive Director. This will need to be a very special person — please keep this in your prayers!

This is just one of the topics we discussed in a recent board meeting. Beth is very enthusiastic about helping GNM grow and thrive. As the wife of Deacon Javier Solis of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma, City, she knows what it means to be in ministry helping others grow in the Faith. She has served as a catechist, a Confirmation teacher, and a youth minister. She is the Outreach Coordinator for a non-profit outreach to the homeless in Oklahoma City and has been coordinating volunteers for Hotdogs for the Homeless since 2003. She is the Spiritual Advisor for the St. Vincent de Paul Conference in her parish of St. Philip Neri in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She is a Co-Leader of the Stephen Ministry Team in her parish. As a Cursillista since 2010, she also leads a women’s weekly Cursillo prayer and faith-sharing group.

Beth first learned about GNM while dating her husband-to-be. He often forwarded our emailed reflections to her. They were wed in 2013. They have three beautiful daughters and five precious grandchildren. In 2021, Beth and Javy earned bachelor’s degrees in Theology through the diaconate program and Newman University. Both are in their sixties, and, as Beth says, “It proves that God can open new doors in any season of life!”
