Blessed Jesus, Saint Robert Bellarmine is the patron saint of catechumens because he wrote two catechisms and devoted much of his time to teaching the Faith to children. He also wrote a revised version of the Bible. I ask him to pray for those in my church who teach the Faith, and for their students. Bless the teachers, Lord, and anoint the minds of those receiving instruction to understand it so powerfully that their lives are changed by it forever. Raise up more opportunities—including parish missions—for church members to learn the Faith more deeply, and inspire large numbers of people to attend these events. Saint Robert, pray for us. Amen.
Quotes for Today
Saint Robert Bellarmine (1542-1621)
Sweet Lord, you are meek and merciful. Who would not give himself wholeheartedly to your service, if he began to taste even a little of your fatherly rule?”
Be wise, my soul, and trust in God alone, cling to Him alone, and cast all your cares on Him alone.”
Saint Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179)
Feast day September 17
The body is the garment of the soul and it is the soul which gives life to the voice. That is why the body must raise its voice in harmony with the soul for the praise of God.”
