The Joy of New Life
As Terry wrote in the newsletter last week, my family welcomed Diego William on October 29th. My wife Agnes and I are overjoyed at watching our older son, Elvin, family and friends marvel at the beauty of new life.
There is something so precious and beautiful about a baby, isn’t there? They are so innocent, filled with wonder and a desire to explore. Simple things that we’ve taken for granted, like getting a bath, are brand new experiences for them. Watching how they react to these experiences can give us a new appreciation for life.
Babies are also delicate and dependent. They require around-the-clock care and demand our constant attention. There are many sleepless nights, new worries, and concerns about providing for their needs. While oftentimes stressful, we can grow from these experiences as well. I know God uses these times to remind me how dependent I am upon His love and care.
Simply, there is so much joy in new life, and the past two weeks of my life have been filled with many special and holy moments. Thank you for praying for my family. Your prayers have made a difference in our lives.
This week, I encourage you to ponder and discover joy in the new things in your life. Perhaps it is a new friendship, job, or even child or grandchild. Take a deep breath and thank the Lord for this blessing. It is through this that He is reminding you of His love and provision.
