Spirit of Wisdom, Saint Sergius of Radonezh (1314-1392) was not very intelligent, but he learned to read and write because of a strong desire to study the Bible. He became so learned in the Faith that important rulers sought his advice. People trusted him because of his confidence in You and his love for them. I ask him to pray for all those I know who rely on their intelligence and educational degrees more than they rely on You. Help us to see these as tools You have provided, but also remind us that knowledge of the Faith is accessible to everyone. Teach us what we need to learn through the opportunities of everyday life. Saint Sergius, pray for us. Amen.
Quotes for Today
Blessed Giovanni B. Mazzucconi (1826-1855)
Feast day September 25
Let my future be as God wants it. I leave it in the hands of Him who cannot operate but for the good of all. And this is enough to make me happy.”
God who saved me will be with me again in this journey, and if I do not abandon Him, He will be with me always. And while He is with me everything that can happen to me will always be a grace, a blessing for which I should thank Him.”
