Welcome to the Summit on Pope Leo’s “Magnifica Humanitas” and AI, hosted by Good News Ministries on August 14, 2026.

The speakers are Catholic experts in Artificial Intelligence:

  1. GNM founder Terry Modica covers the whole encyclical, with a special focus on AI.
  2. Stephanie Quesnelle is a data analyst with connections to a frontier artificial intelligence research lab and author of “Created, Not Coded”, the first Catholic children’s picture book about AI. She talks about the family culture especially in regards to: “What are we building?” as Pope Leo XIV asks in Magnifica Humanitas.
  3. Matthew Harvey Sanders, founder of “Magisterium AI”, discusses: What are the most important things we can do as Catholics to ensure AI and robots are developed to support human flourishing instead of impeding it?
  4. John-Clark Levin, discusses the nature and implications of artificial general intelligence (AGI). He is head of research at Kurzweil Technologies developing AGI with regards to safety and alignment, and using AI in education.
