The Fourth Sorrowful Mystery

As we meditate on the sufferings Jesus endured while carrying the cross, we pray the ANIMA CHRISTI (adapted by GNM for this Rosary):

For all those times we have sinned and added to the weight of Your cross, O My Jesus, I pray:

Soul of Christ, sanctify your Church.
Body of Christ, save us.
Blood of Christ, inebriate us.
Water from the side of Christ, wash us.
Passion of Christ, strengthen us.
O good Jesus, hear us.
Within your wounds conceal us.
Do not permit us to be parted from you.
From the evil foe protect us.
At the hour of our death call us.
And bid us come to you,
to praise you with all your saints
for ever and ever.
Amen.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you.
Blessed are you among women,
and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace…

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen!

For those who have sinned within or against vocations …

Together we pray:

Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins,
save us from the fires of hell;
lead all souls to Heaven,
especially those most in need of Your Mercy.
