December 18 – Saint Flannan

Saint Flannan

listenBlessed Redeemer, Saint Flannan (7th century) often traveled on long journeys to spread the Good News.  Though he went as a missionary, he considered each trip to be a pilgrimage for the purification of his soul.  I ask him to pray for all of us who are in ministry to grow from the experience.  May our works not only help others but also give us challenges that lead to greater holiness.  O Lord, let the trials and difficulties purge us of worldliness and selfishness.  Let the people we serve increase our compassion and understanding.  Let the people with whom we work teach us new insights about the Faith.  Saint Flannan, pray for us.  Amen.
