Precious Lord, Saints Crispin and Crispinian (d. 285 or 286) were brothers who promoted Your kingdom by day and supported their families by night as shoemakers. I ask them to pray for the people I know who would like to do full-time ministry or even part-time ministry but cannot afford it due to finances or other family needs. I also ask Saints Crispin and Crispinian to intercede for those who work to support their families and give their spare time in service to the Church. Help us, dear God, to find the right balance between our jobs and our ministries and our personal lives. You are the Provider, Lord; give us what we need financially and guide us as we devote our limited time to the work of Your kingdom. Saints Crispin and Crispinian, pray for us. Amen.
Quote for Today
Saint Gaudentius of Brescia (d. 410)
Feast day October 25
Let the houses of Christians be free from everything of the train of the devil; let humility and hospitality be practiced therein; let them be always sanctified by psalms and spiritual songs; let the word of God, and the sign of Jesus Christ (the cross), be in your hearts, in your mouths, on your countenance, at table, in the bath, when you go out and when you come in, in joy and in sorrow.”
The prayer above is from Terry Modica’s book Daily Prayers with the Saints.
