December 8 – The Immaculate Conception

The Immaculate Conception

listenO Sacred Jesus, from the moment of Mary’s immaculate conception, You gave her the benefit of Your future death on the cross.  You granted her the fullness of grace and a life free of the stain of original sin.  You sanctified her womb so that she could carry Your divine presence within her body.  I ask her to pray for the sanctification of my home and the homes of everyone I know.  Help us, dear Savior, to treat those we live with and those who visit us as tabernacles where You dwell.  Teach us to love each other unconditionally, with respect, reverence, patience, swift forgiveness, and holy acts of mercy.  Blessed Mother, pray for us.  Amen.

Quote for Today

Saint Alphonsus Liguori (1696-1787)
Feast day August 1
“On the Feast of the Immaculate Conception”

quoteAs Mary was to be the mediatrix of peace between men and God, it was of the utmost importance that she should not herself appear as a sinner and as an enemy of God, but that she should appear in all things as a friend, and free from every stain.”
