Update on Ralph’s recovery

Since November, Ralph has been hospitalized four times. There are a lot of people praying for him — thank you very much! So here’s an update.

After his colon was removed, he came home for at-home physical therapy and recovery, but this was short-lived. Back at the hospital for hopefully the last time, an infection was treated and his blood pressure and pulse rate brought back under control. Now, for the next couple of weeks, he’s getting daily physical therapy and a close eye on his health in a rehabilitation facility.

We can’t help but wonder: Why has God not answered all the many prayers offered for Ralph by shortening or preventing these ordeals? God’s reply is: “Trust Me. Surrender. All things — including this — will be used for great good, as I promised in Romans 8:28.”

One great good that is already visible is how much people care. Ralph and I have local support from his sister Alice and our community of faith-filled friends. The relationship bonds are growing thicker and stronger, and for this we are very grateful.

We are also grateful for the support shown by members of the Good News family. This includes financial support that will keep GNM going — and what a relief that is as we focus our attention on the healing and recovery process!

New podcast episode!
God the Father as You Never Knew Him

What do you think God the Father is really like? I guarantee he is much better as a Daddy who really cares about you – much better than you think he is. In this episode, I’ll share with you some key ways of really getting to know God the Father better, because he wants you to be intimate with him. He wants you to know him intimately.

This video was originally broadcast during a Catholic summit called God the Father: Unconditional Love”. Seventeen Catholic authors and speakers offered catechesis, stories, faith-sharings, and more — all about the love of God and his providence and guidance in our lives.
