Update on Terry’s healing through grief

I hope you’re having a happy Easter season. My Easter Sunday was going to be a very depressing one because it’s my first year without Ralph. But, miraculously, God filled my heart with joy.

I remember our first Easter together when we were high school sweethearts (photo, 1973). Last year we expected to spend Easter with friends but Ralph was too sick to leave home. So we expected his doctors to put him on the medicine that would make Easter of 2024 so much better. Instead, in February Ralph received the full healing one gets from letting go of the body and joining Jesus in eternal life.

During Easter Sunday Mass, I heard one of the readings from the perspective of Heaven:

For those who have died, their life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ their life appears, then they too will appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:4)

I felt happy for Ralph.

The songs of Easter Mass filled me with joy. I can’t explain why my spirits were so high except that it was miraculous. God helped me have the happiest Easter in years. And to keep the fun going, I went out to dinner with two friends who are also had lost their husbands.

One of the ways God helped me was by connecting me with the friend of a friend of Good News Ministries. Joanne emailed to me a poem she had written during her grief along with some advice she had learned.
