A Late Night for Good News Ministries
One sign a conference will be spiritually fruitful is that the evil one tries to disrupt it. This was the case last evening when Terry, while en route to Milwaukee, was diverted to Midway Airport in Chicago because of dense fog. Her scheduled 9:20 p.m. flight landed on time, but in a city 2 hours south of where she was supposed to be speaking this weekend.
When Terry texted me, “I’m stranded in Chicago.” I replied, “You aren’t stranded – I’ll come get you.” When the devil throws you an unexpected curveball, the best thing to do is hit it out of the park. So after quickly filling up on gasoline, I began the nearly two-hour trek south to pick her up. Was this ideal? No. We both had long days and were looking forward to resting a bit before the weekend conference. Instead, we didn’t get settled until after 1 a.m.
While we may be battling exhaustion today, we remain laser-focused on the conference and serving the faithful of the Milwaukee Archdiocese. This weekend’s presentations focus on doing God’s will and living Catholicism in the modern world. We expect God to work through our tired vessels to uplift and strengthen attendees to live their faith even in the most difficult circumstances.
Please pray for us and all involved in the conference this weekend. May God continue to bless you and your family.
