May 28 – Saint Bernard of Menthon
Heavenly Father, Saint Bernard of Menthon (c.1020–1081) protected travelers from thieves in the Alpine Mountains and established hospices for people making pilgrimages to Rome. In his memory, the noble dogs that are trained to search for missing victims in the mountains were named after him. I ask him to watch over me as I traverse unknown and possibly dangerous paths in my life’s journey, and to pray for the safety and provisions I need in reaching the destination where You, O Lord, want me to go. If I get lost, hurry the angels to my side to guide me back to the right path. Let every step draw me closer to You. Saint Bernard of Menthon, pray for me. Amen.
Quote for Today
Servant of God Isaac Hecker (1819-1888)
Genuine contemplation and action are inseparable. The one who seeks truth loves truth, and the one who loves truth seeks to spread the knowledge and practice of truth.”
