We listened, we responded

Daily Reflections on the home pageLast week in this newsletter I asked: “What do think of our new Home Page?” Cynthia R. replied:

“Many thanks for your wonderful work!! … My preference is to not subscribe to your daily reflections. Even though it’s more effort to look up the daily reflection rather than subscribe, I feel this makes the action intentional and more of a sacrifice. What’s been happening re: Sunday reflections has been very frustrating for me. I can’t even find the daily reflection for Sunday on Sunday, because only next Sunday’s reflection is easily available. Please simplify this…. Thanks again, and God Bless you and your team!!”

Because of Cynthia, we’ve added a link in the section of the home page that shows the daily reflections. It says, “Access reflections for other days” (see photo above). The link goes to gnm.org/good-news-reflections where everyone can easily find more than the two days that are on the home page. (In fact, it’s an archive of every published reflection.) Until now, this link has only been available through the nav-bar menu under “More Faith”. Easy to miss.

When you visit the archive page, note that at the top of this page it says, “The current week’s Sunday reflection is on page 2.” We publish the “next Sunday” reflections a week early for the sake of those in faith-sharing groups who discuss the upcoming readings of Sunday Mass. Priests and deacons also use it for homily help. But with a simple click to Page 2 of the archives, you’ll find the current Sunday.

We are always interested in feedback and suggestions. In fact, much of what’s on our multiple websites is there because of what people ask for. The GNM staff and I are here to minister to you!

Rosary Podcasts: Do you want more?

A month ago we published a “Rosary Podcast” entitled “When Disaster Hits, Find God.” More than just the recitation of the Rosary, which you can join in with Ralph and me, it weaves an uplifting message through it. Each decade of the Rosary is lifted up for something important related to the message. It’s not just a beautiful prayer, it’s life-changing!

However, not many people viewed or listened to it. So I’m wondering if the idea of a series of rosary podcasts is worth the time-consuming effort. Was the theme of the first one a poor choice of topic? Or the idea of praying this way? I need feedback before I proceed.

Here again are the links to the podcast, “When Disaster Hits, Find God”:

Prayer Room

2023 October’s Rosary Campaign:
Who needs Mary’s help?

Who are you praying for because they left the Catholic Faith? We all know people who believe the lies of the Devil. Our loved ones come to mind first. Are we also praying for politicians, school teachers, co-workers, church leaders and others who claim to be Catholic but are living and proclaiming what goes against the teachings of scripture and the Church Magisterium?

In light of everything that’s happening in our world today and what might soon happen, we must-must-must do many prayers and penances and sacrifices for the unfaithful. As you know, October is the Month of the Holy Rosary. We can expect many blessings from God when we offer up our daily Rosary for those who have been unfaithful to the Lord.

Join our annual Holy Rosary Campaign: Visit gnm.org/prayers/rosary-campaign and post a comment telling us who you are praying the Rosary for. Read what others post and pray for their intentions too. We are a community of the Faithful! There is great power in community prayer.

God bless you!

Every morning, I lift up in prayer everyone who helps Good News Ministries in any way (donors, volunteers, prayer supporters, etc.) and all the prayer requests posted on our site. What can I cover in prayer for you? Post your prayer request.
