Support – Why

Support - Why - Together we can change the world for Christ

WHY support Good News Ministries?

WHO will benefit from your support?

Good News Ministries touches countless lives around the world, including in countries where people have no Catholic Mass and where Christians are persecuted if they come out of hiding.

To see how your donations help others, read these testimonials.

To see how the founders overcame their own fears about sacrificial giving, read their personal testimony.

Your support enables us to change hearts for Christ. > Download our Annual Report to see how we’ve been doing that.

And that’s just some of the difference we make throughout the world to help people experience more of God’s love and joy.

Some people wonder why we should ask for donations.

Support - Why - Terry Modica teaches Good NewsIf I preach the gospel,
this is no reason for me to boast,
for an obligation has been imposed on me,
and woe to me if I do not preach it!

If I do so willingly, I have a recompense,
but if unwillingly, then I have been
entrusted with a stewardship.

What then is my recompense?
That, when I preach,
I offer the gospel free of charge.
(1 Cor 9:16-18)

This scripture explains why we would rather rely on the support of benefactors instead of charging a fee for the Good News Reflections or any of the other services offered by Good News Ministries. Most of the people we serve — people whose lives are changed by what we provide — send us no support. This is why you are very appreciated. You are reading this because you care.

Saint Paul was not saying it’s wrong to charge a fee. In fact, Jesus said that the worker deserves his wages (Luke 10:7). It takes a staff of five to keep everything running and to continue expanding our outreach. To succeed, we must have equipment that works well, an office to work in, a very large server for our websites, health insurance, etc. With your support, you become God’s encouragement for us to keep doing what he calls us to do.

"Your ministry is always in my prayers, and when I order from Amazon, I donate to you. You are an inspiration of encouragement, faith, dedication and love of God to me." (Norma R.)

Online Retreats

The “virtual retreats” of Good News Ministries are online prayer and reflection experiences that you can enjoy wherever you are. All of them offer healing, rest and restoration in the gentle arms of Christ. Some are interactive. Some are prayer-poems. Some are multi-media. Some are in Virtual Reality (and you don't need headgear to see it). Take time alone with the Lord: [go]
