October 29 – Saint Narcissus of Jerusalem
God of Justice, Saint Narcissus of Jerusalem (c.99-c.216) was falsely accused of a terrible crime by three of his enemies. He was saved from an unjust punishment because he had a reputation for holiness and no one believed the lies. I ask him to pray for me whenever I am slandered or verbally attacked. Help me, O Lord, to rely on You whenever falsehoods are raised against me. Put untrue reports into the hands of people who know me and inspire them to come to my defense. Teach me to humbly avoid arguing or retaliating against my accusers. Jesus, I trust in You, for truly You are my greatest defender. Saint Narcissus, pray for me. Amen.
Quotes for Today
Blessed Chiara Luce Badano (1971-1990)
Feast day October 29
I care only about the will of God, about doing it well, in the present moment.”
I offer my nothingness so that the Holy Spirit can bestow his gifts of love, light and peace upon the youth; so that everybody can understand what a free and immense gift life is and how important it is to live every instant in the fullness of God.”
The prayer above is from Terry Modica’s book Daily Prayers with the Saints.
